The ruins of the cathedral

The imposing ruins of Tartu Cathedral are perfect for summer weddings and cultural events.

During summer, the ruins of the cathedral provide a venue for hosting receptions and performances. They have been the site for productions by Vanemuine and Tartu Uus Teater (Tartu New Theatre). On Tartu City Day in 2021, the cathedral ruins housed the dance production Tähesülem. In winter the ruins have been equipped with a makeshift snow bar for an exhibition opening and functioned as a site for building a snow town.
